Official Danish Helpline

Cyberhus is the Official Danish Helpline

Cyberhus has been appointed the official Danish helpline under EU's Safer Internet Plus Programme for the purpose of increasing awareness of children and young people's behaviour online.
Cyberhus as helpline receives more than 200 enquiries a month related to net safety and online behaviour. The helpline is part of Cyberhus' general work on counselling marginalised children and young people.
The helpline is divided into three different functions: 1. Chat-counselling which provides young people the opportunity of one-to-one anonymous chat-sessions. 2. Online Q&As that are open 24 hours a day. 3. Online debate forums which provide the opportunity of peer counselling.

Cyberhus at Conference in Lisbon

In spring 2010 Cyberhus participated in Insafe’s training meeting in Lisbon. The forum provided good opportunity for sharing knowledge and development regarding streamlining of campaigns, training of volunteers, and cross-border cooperation. Sweden presented an example of youth involvement. A method which Cyberhus finds suitable seeing as the main part of our activities employs user involvement as their starting point. In Cyberhus we believe children are experts on their own lives, which is also expressed in our future short film ‘The good story’. In this we have involved young people actively in the development of pedagogical film material.
